Farmers have to file earlier than everyone else, so December and January are the months when Mom and I are busy making sure all of the farm books are up-to-date, sorted, and entered properly into QuickBooks.
- - - - - - - - - - Because Hubby and I went to North Carolina and Tennessee for Christmas and New Years', we didn't have our Christmas together until we got back.
Hubby has started a tradition where each Christmas he gives me an ornament and I think that there might be a cow-theme 😜

On January 25th, we visited two fellow dairy farms in Vermont - one organic and one conventional - both with robotic milkers. It was an interesting, informative, & fun fieldtrip!
Farmers are generally humble folk. They might brag about their animals, but when it comes to their accomplishments they don't like being put in the spotlight.
My family is no different.
My parents have worked hard their whole lives to raise the best animals they can, produce a quality product, & be stewards of what God has given them.
This dedication puts them in with the best-of-the-best farmers across the state of Vermont (in my opinion & the state's).
This year was no exception & (slight bragging here) I'm proud to say that MY family farm is # 2 in the state in cow dairy!
I am proud of my family & I am proud of the dairy farmers in this state/across the country who produce quality milk products for consumers every single day!
It's a thankless, dirty, difficult, tiring job, but it's who we are; it's in our blood.
