"Two-Week" Update

I love detail and knowing how and what is happening has always been interesting to me.

Pregnancy is no exception!

Abba God creating life is beyond words amazing and wonderful; and now that I am helping Him create a human being inside of me...I'm humbled and wowed.

My Abba is a details guy!

Look what David said about Him in Psalm:

"You made all the delicate, inner parts of my body and knit me together in my mother’s womb. Thank you for making me so wonderfully complex! Your workmanship is marvelous—how well I know it. You watched me as I was being formed in utter seclusion, as I was woven together in the dark of the womb. You saw me before I was born. Every day of my life was recorded in your book. Every moment was laid out before a single day had passed."
(139:13-16 NLT)

Whether you believe in Him or not, He created you.

He picked the sperm and the egg that would turn into the zygote that would grow into baby you - He is the One Who gave you every single detail!

Sometimes, sin gets in the way and messes up God's design, but He doesn't love us any less!

I'm not only about the details, I'm also about proper terms when it comes to the human body...be prepared to have a Biology 101 refresher! 😜

(Let me jump in here and say that while the medical profession determines gestational age from the last menstruation, pregnancy doesn't technically begin until 2 weeks later. So while this is the medical 2 weeks, it's actually not even week one yet for Baby Callicott. 😉  )

Last week my progesterone and estrogen hormones increased sending a message to my uterus to produce a thick, luscious, blood-rich lining for the fertilized egg.

This week I ovulated - an egg was released from a follicle & traveled down to the fallopian tube to wait for its sperm date.

Baby's gender was determined this week, but won't be seen on the ultrasound until medical week eighteen - although Hubby and I are actually waiting to be surprised on Baby's birth day! 😉

Also this week, my uterine lining is thickening and the glands and blood vessels in the lining are increasing in quantity as well as size in prep for the fertilized egg's implantation.

Amazing how God gets things ready, huh?!

Just like in Creation He made the air before He made things that needed it! 😃

As the fertilized egg travels down the fallopian tube to my uterus, it is called a zygote and divides into 16 cells before it burrows into the uterine lining.

The little ball of identical cells, known as a blastocyst, will form the embryo and the amniotic sac from the inside cells while forming the placenta from the outside cells.

Hubby and I are so excited to be on this new journey together! 😃  ðŸ’š

"For this child I prayed; and the Lord has granted me the petition that I made to him."
