Baby's Twenty-Four Week Update

Momma can't zip her coat anymore because of me 😜

My Baking Time:

24 Weeks.

from BabyCenter.com

What's New:

I can tell if I'm right side up or upside-down now! Momma says I'm an active little thing - what else do I have to do all day??

How Big Am I:

An ear of corn.

from Google

My Stats:

11.81 inches from crown to heel and 1.32 pounds

Doctor:

This week we went back to UVM Medical Center for our follow-up ultrasound.
I was a little better today...they got their pictures anyway.
But I did punch the ultrasound wand a few times, and then flipped over again with my back to them. Hehe I like playing tricks on them. 😜

Movement:

Momma is surprised that Daddy can't feel me yet, as hard as I kick and punch. 😜

What is Happening On the Farm:

Momma and Daddy had another birth class.

Gramma and Uncle Peter got back safely from D.C.

Happy Birthday, cousin Jennifer! 😍

This is the only picture they got of me...

Baby's Twenty-Three Week Update

My Baking Time:

23 Weeks.

from BabyCenter.com

What's New:

My air sacs are inflating and my lungs can finally fully expand. Still breathing amniotic fluid but I'm getting ready for air outside Momma's belly.

How Big Am I:

A can of WD-40.

from Google

My stats:

11.38 inches from crown to heel and 1.1 pound

What is Happening On the Farm:

Momma, Uncle Peter, Grampa Briggs, and Gramma Briggs went to the Shoreham fire house for a Dairy Discussion meeting and lunch. Afterward we went to the Black and White Face Ranch for a tour of their new robot barn. They have the same machines we do (Lely) but instead of retrofitting their old barn, they built a brand new one.

Happy St. Patty's Day!

MawMaw Callicott was able to fly out Saturday morning - very sad for her to leave, but she will be back soon. 😊

Momma and Daddy were part of the Newlywed Game at the Williston SDA church's game night.
It was touch and go for a few of the questions, but they (surprising to both of them) actually won! What fun they had.

This week was the first birth class! Momma and Daddy had a good time, learned a lot, and made some new friends.
Baloo went too since MawMaw Callicott gave him to me to keep me company.

Gramma Briggs and Uncle Peter left this week on the train for Washington, D.C.! They are going to stay with Gramma's cousins, the Blairs, and sight-see around town for a week. Momma hopes they have a lot of fun!

Baby Registry

We have had several of you ask if we have a registry for our little calf.

Yes, we do!

Our registry is located at Baby List, and we feel that we have chosen the things we really need as first-time parents, with some wants thrown in there as well. 😉

We are so excited to have Baby C join our family; and are incredibly thankful for wonderful people like you who wish to bless this little miracle with love! 💚
- - - - -
A few notes about our registry and things...

1) We are not finding out the gender until the birth-day - if you are worried about colors, don't be! We aren't pink & purple people; but other than that, we love color, patterns, & animals! 😊
2) Babies grow quickly and most items are only used for a little bit...We are more than happy to receive homemade, handmade, & second-hand gifts! 😄
This goes for most everything on our registry (exceptions being car seats, pacifiers, etc.), especially clothing!
Used Clothes - If you would like to gift Baby C with some clothes, please give size 0-3 months and 3-6 months or larger. 😊 We could use onesies, sweatpants, and socks for baby's first Winter (0-3 and 3-6 month). We would welcome older clothes as well for 12-month Summer and 18/24-month Winter. 💚
3) We do not have a nursery theme per say, nor are we going to have a nursery for our little one to begin with. If you need ideas of things we like: cows, farm, red tractors, fire trucks, animals... 😊
4) We are always appreciative of monetary gifts if you do not see something you like on our registry!
Please do not feel limited to this registry!
*You may notice some duplicate things - this is not a mistake. We will need a barn-item & a town-item. 😉😊 *
- - - - -
In lieu of cards, please gift Baby C your favorite book, and write your message on the inside!
For your convenience, there is a list of book suggestions at the end of the registry; but please do not feel limited to just those books! 😊💚

If you have a wish to provide us with a meal after Baby has arrived, we have only a couple restrictions:
Paul is allergic to un-cooked walnuts.
Karen cannot have soy (i.e. vegetarian meats, soy beverage, etc. - even in cooked or baked things).
We eat dairy, eggs, meat (turkey, beef, chicken), fruits, & veggies! 😊
(If you aren't up to cooking either but still want to give a meal, take-out or gift cards are absolutely acceptable! 😉😄)

Once again, thank-you all for the well wishes, love, and support as we begin this new chapter in our lives! 😘💗

Baby's Twenty-Two Week Update

My Baking Time:

22 Weeks.

from BabyCenter.com

What's New:

Did you know that until this week you could see through my skin? Now it's getting something called opaque and all red and wrinkly. I'm starting to touch everything I can get my hands on - so many new things to explore!

How Big Am I:

A spaghetti squash.

from Google

My stats:

10.94 inches from crown to heel and 15.17 ounces

Doctor:

This week we had the big ultrasound at the UVM Medical Center!
I wasn't very cooperative though; MawMaw Callicott laughed and said I was just like Daddy.
Momma and Daddy were happy to not know my gender, but I made them have to come back to see me again so the doctor can get more pictures of my heart and stuff.
I don't think they will mind seeing me again. 😜

At the OB this week we saw one of the midwives, Kristen Werner.
Momma had a good heart rate as usual, 120/76.
They talked about me misbehaving at the hospital ultrasound and listened to my heart beat...
145-155 bpm 😍

Movement:

Momma is feeling me more and more!

What is Happening On the Farm:

Cousin Chaz turned 16 this week! Momma said that he was born when she was 16 so that makes her feel really old now.

Cousin Sophia had a half-day at school so she got to go see me on the ultrasound. She said she'll only babysit me if I'm a girl...guess we'll have to see what she thinks if I turn out to be a boy. (and no, Momma and Daddy still don't know what I am - I did a good job hiding it from the tech even! 😜 )

MawMaw Callicott, Gramma Briggs, Uncle Peter, Momma, Daddy, and a bunch of friends went to the sheep farm for their open house. Momma said I'm going to love the lambs just as much as she does when I'm bigger.

MawMaw was supposed to leave on Tuesday, but because of the big snow storm, Burlington airport shut down for 2 days, so she gets to stay until Saturday now! 😍

She had never been to a sugar house before so Sabbath afternoon everyone, except Grampa Briggs, went to our friends' down in Cornwall to watch them boil. Momma says it brings back fond memories of being in her grandpa's sugar house each Spring when she was little.

That's me...facing down

Fun Sabbath afternoon spent at our friends' sugar house

Hot dogs boiled in sap - yummy!
